Why Do You Need a Home Inspection?
Your house may have issues that you may not know of, even if you have been living there for several years. A home inspection will help you identify all possible faults and issues in and around your house. And there isn’t any benefit that you don’t know; the advantages of regular home inspections are many.
- A home inspection also helps identify any potential problems that may not be serious today but may later lead to expensive repairs. Your home inspector will also help you outline the future repair or maintenance cost to avoid any financial shocks.
- A home inspector can approximate the installation age of major systems in the home, such as plumbing, heating, cooling, and other critical equipment, and let you know the remaining shelf life.
- Some insurance companies will not insure a home if certain conditions are found, or without the presence of certifications. A home inspection will point out these things so that you can plan your home’s coverage well.
- If you plan to sell or rent out your home, a home inspection will help people understand that your house is free of any problems. This will most likely give you a high-priced deal.

When Do You Need a Home Inspection?
Some people may try to avoid getting a home inspection. Also, many believe that they can use all their senses and make sure everything is alright in their homes. Your senses may be reliable, but we don’t recommend overlooking the need for getting a home inspection. Letting professional eyes and equipment going through every part of your home is crucial for several reasons. And there are five times when you simply cannot avoid getting a home inspection in Canada.
- Before buying or renting a new house (even before you make an offer).
- Before selling or renting out your house.
- Every time the property is up for re-rental.
- When you start noticing a few unusual signs.
- Every 2-3 years (or more frequently if you have older home installations)
If you aren’t sure of the right time to get a home inspection, get in touch with us. The frequency of home inspections depends upon several factors. We will talk to you, understand the history, and recommend the best time for your home inspection.
What Do We Need From You?
Our home inspection service is a two-way process where we’ll require your co-operation and time. To ensure that our process goes on smoothly and that we don’t miss out on any nook of your property, we will request you to keep a few things ready. Ensure that you, your belongings, and your house are prepared for inspection to prevent any mistakes or delays or cause any disturbance. And here’s what we expect from you:
- Clean the house thoroughly.
- Make sure you keep all pilot lights on
- Leave all interior doors unlocked.
- If the attic hatch is inside a closet, remove clothing as insulation occasionally falls from the hatch during the attic inspection
- Remove any pets from the property or secure them in crates.
- Maintain clear workspace around the attic hatch, electrical panel, furnace, main water line, hot water tank/water heater, air exchanger, and other electrical devices
- Leave the house for at least 3 hours.
- If you already know of any issues in your house, let us know about them.
